New Everton business joins the SmokeFree Liverpool campaign
A new hotel and bistro in Everton is on a winner, with its smokefree policy.
Aneillio's opened a month ago and immediately went totally smokefree - and business is booming.
The boutique hotel and bistro on Netherfield Road North already caters for a wide spectrum of customers, including football fans, tradesmen and businessmen.
Owner of Aneillio's, Kerry Dwyer said: "When we made the decision to go smokefree we were slightly apprehensive but decided we were a new business and wanted to start out with a positive message.
"I was a heavy smokers until 12 years ago and even I realise that there is nothing worse than eating and socialising in a smoke filled environment.
"We would advise any business which is considering going smokefree to take the plunge. We have had no negativity towards our decision and believe that if your product is strong enough people will sacrifice smoking to enjoy good food and surroundings".
SmokeFree Liverpool Programme Director, Andrea Crossfield said: "We are delighted that more businesses are going smokefree and strengthening the campaign. With the new year we would like to encourage more businesses to follow in Aneillio's foot steps and go smokefree in 2006".
Aneillio's joins a list of bars, pubs and clubs in the city which have already backed the SmokeFree Liverpool campaign, which is in turn backing the city council's Bill asking for '100% smokefree' legislation.
