Why support the smokefree campaign?
Simply put, the evidence that smoking kills is unarguable. The fact that inhaling second-hand tobacco smoke kills up to 100 people a year in Liverpool alone makes the case for a 100% restriction on smoking in workplaces totally logical.
Parliament has now seen the logic of the argument, and workplaces throughout England will be going smokefree in 2007 - following the Irish and Scottish examples. It makes sense to implement smokefree policies as soon as possible, ahead of legislation - and also to continue to show the decision-makers that they have made the right decision.
You can help this process by pledging your support, using the interactive links in this section.
